'Leaked' screenshots show From Software's rumored 'Project Beast'

Dark Souls 2 developer From Software is working on a new action game called Project Beast, if screenshots posted to NeoGAF are to be believed.

The images depict a shotgun-wielding character exploring a dark world, who is occasionally locked in bloody battle with nightmarish beasts. They are accompanied by a brief written account, which describes some of the magic and weaponry seen in Project Beast's world.





They do not offer any hint at the game's platform. However, Gematsu reports that a PS4 collaboration between Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and From Software has been rumored for a while.

A Sony employee who occasionally posts on the forum teased in January that the game in question would be "a whole different beast" (emphasis added).

The screenshots are unverified at the moment and should be treated as such. If they are legitimate, we may learn more at Sony's as-yet unscheduled E3 2014 media briefing.

Traditionally, EA, Microsoft, Sony and Ubisoft all hold their E3 press conferences on the same day, which falls on June 9 this year.
